What is Cosmelan and how does it work?
Cosmelan® is Mesoestetic’s professional depigmentation programme for melasma, hyperpigmentation, dark spots and uneven skin tone. We apply the Cosmelan mask in clinic, you continue with prescribed home products, and your pigmentation fades over the following weeks.
It is not a facial and not a one-off peel. It works in two ways: it fades the pigment you can see, and it slows the pigment that keeps coming back.

We apply the mask, you remove it at home
Cosmelan 1 is applied in clinic. You go home wearing it and remove it at the exact time we give you.
We prepare your skin, apply the professional mask and confirm your personal removal time, usually 6 to 8 hours.
The mask is visible on your way home. After removal your skin may feel warm, tight or sensitive.
Follow your written instructions exactly: do not remove it early, leave it on longer or add other products.
Your skin starts to renew
This is when most clients have questions, so we explain it all in advance.
Your home phase begins at the time we confirm, usually 48 to 72 hours after the mask.
Redness, warmth, tightness, dryness and light peeling are normal. This is the treatment working.
Use only your supplied products, do not pick or exfoliate, keep out of heat and strong sun, and wear your SPF.
