After the courseCoarse, dark bikini hair is what the laser targets best, so it is often one of the quickest areas to clear. Most clients need six to eight sessions, and shaving rash and ingrown hairs settle as the hair thins.

Most women come in with one area that has turned into a weekly job.
Shaving and waxing the bikini line cause most of the ingrown hairs and red bumps we see. As the hair thins, the skin settles, because there is less hair left to grow back in.
Hormonal hair on the chin and upper lip is the most common facial request. Laser thins it steadily, with an occasional top-up when hormones change.
A wax every four to six weeks adds up to hours and hundreds of pounds a year. A course ends most of that, with short top-ups afterwards.
Start well before a holiday. Sessions need your skin out of the sun and free of fake tan, so we plan your course around the trip.
Laser hair removal for light, medium and dark skin tones
Dermacy Clinic uses a triple-wavelength ice diode laser that combines 755, 810 and 1064 nm with integrated cooling, and every Fitzpatrick skin type from I to VI is assessed at consultation. Dark hair on lighter skin gives the clearest target. Medium and olive skin is planned around recent tanning. On darker skin the 1064 nm wavelength is used, with conservative first settings. Settings are chosen for your skin, hair and treatment area rather than copied from a chart, and a patch test is available if you would like to check first.
Best for fine and lighter hair on fair skin.
The all-rounder for most skin tones and hair types.
Reaches deeper follicles and is used for darker skin tones and coarse hair.

Discuss the treatment area, skin history, hair pattern, medication and your goals. £30, deducted from your treatment when you go ahead.
Skin and hair assessment
Your current Fitzpatrick type, hair pigment, hair density, tanning and medical history are reviewed.
Patch test
A small test area may be used before the first full treatment where appropriate.
Treatment
The area is prepared and treated systematically using individual device settings.
Aftercare
You receive practical guidance and a proposed interval for your next appointment.
Do
- Shave the area the day before or the morning of each session
- Arrive with clean skin: no deodorant on the underarms and no make-up on treated areas
- Use SPF 50 on exposed areas between sessions
- Tell us about new medication, pregnancy or a holiday before your session
Do not
- Wax, pluck, thread or epilate for four weeks before a session
- Use sunbeds, deliberate sun or fake tan for two weeks either side
- Have a hot bath, sauna, swim or workout for 48 hours afterwards
- Use perfumed products, scrubs or retinol on treated skin for a few days
