What is an 8-point lift?

An 8-point lift, also called a liquid facelift, uses hyaluronic acid filler at structural support points across the cheeks, temples, jawline and chin. Restoring support at these points lifts flattened areas and softens tired shadows without surgery. The exact points depend on your face and are chosen at consultation. At Dermacy Clinic it starts from £1,000, and results usually last 12 to 18 months.

The 8 points

How the 8-point lift works

With age the face loses volume and the deeper support under the skin thins out. Skin without that support drops, which shows as hollows, folds and a tired look. The 8-point lift puts support back where it was lost.

Cheeks

Lift through the mid-face

Support on the cheekbone and mid-cheek restores the curve that flattens with age. Because the cheek holds up the skin below it, this often softens the lines beside the nose and mouth too.

Temples

A fuller frame around the eyes

Hollow temples make the upper face look narrow and drawn. A small amount of filler there restores the frame and can make the outer brow area look less tired.

Jaw and chin

A firmer lower face

Points along the jaw and at the chin firm up the edge of the lower face and break up the shadow of early jowls, sharpening the outline without adding bulk.

Chosen for you

Eight is a guide, not a rule

The points are chosen at consultation from how your face has changed. Some faces need more support in one area and none in another, so the plan follows your face, not a diagram.

Suitability

Who the 8-point lift suits, and who it does not

This treatment works on support and volume. It cannot tighten skin, so an honest assessment matters even more here than for a single area.

Book

Often suitable for

Adults noticing volume loss in the mid-face, a tired or drawn look that rest does not fix, flattening cheeks, hollow temples or the first signs of sagging along the jaw. It often suits people who have treated one line at a time and found it never quite looked right.

Ask first

Talk to us before booking if

You take blood thinners, have an autoimmune condition, have had filler, threads or facial surgery before, or have a dental problem at the moment. Tell us about any past reaction to filler, and avoid booking within two weeks of a wedding or big event.

Not the right fit

When we suggest something else

Significant loose skin, heavy jowls or a sagging neck. Filler cannot lift skin that has stretched, and adding volume can make the face look heavier, so we suggest a surgical opinion instead. We never treat under-18s, and we postpone treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Your visit

What happens at your liquid facelift appointment

A full-face plan needs more thought than a single area, so much of the work happens before the first injection.

  1. Consultation and assessment

About 45 minutes on your medical history, your goals and how your face has changed. We look at it at rest, while you talk and from every side, and take photos in fixed lighting.

  2. Your 8-point plan

We show you which points we suggest and why, and confirm the plan and price before anything is injected. Then numbing cream goes on while we talk.

  3. Treatment

We work point by point, checking the balance between both sides as we go, and sit you up to look in the mirror before we finish.

  4. Review at two weeks

Once the swelling has gone we compare photos together and check that the lift looks balanced from every angle.

Results and aftercare

Recovery, results and how long a liquid facelift lasts

Several areas are treated, so recovery takes a little longer than for one area, but most people are back to daily life within a few days.

  1. Straight after

You will see more lift and fullness at once, with some swelling, redness at the injection points and tenderness. The temples and jaw can feel sore when you chew for a few days.

  2. The first week

Swelling usually eases over the first few days. Bruising can appear at any of the points; it can be covered with make-up from the next day and normally clears in about a week.

  3. At two weeks

The filler has settled and your face looks like itself again, only more rested. This is when we see you for your review.

  4. How long it lasts

Usually 12 to 18 months. Deep support on the cheekbones and jaw tends to hold longer than softer areas, and the result fades gradually, so you do not lose it all at once.

  5. Aftercare

For 24 to 48 hours avoid strenuous exercise, heat (sauna, steam, hot yoga) and alcohol, and keep make-up off the treated areas for the rest of the day. Avoid facials, massage and firm pressure on the face for two weeks.

  6. Keeping it up

Top-ups are usually lighter than the first plan, because you are maintaining support rather than rebuilding it. Skin boosters and anti-wrinkle injections can be planned in between to look after skin quality and expression lines.

Safety first. A liquid facelift treats several areas, and the temples, cheeks and jaw each have blood vessels to plan around. Every point is planned at consultation, and filler goes in slowly, in small amounts. Frequently asked questions

Liquid facelift FAQs

Straight answers about comfort, results, prices and aftercare.

Is a liquid facelift the same as an 8-point lift?

Mostly, yes. Liquid facelift is the general name for using filler across the whole face to restore lift and volume. The 8-point lift is a structured way of doing it, with filler placed at set support points rather than wherever a line shows. At Dermacy Clinic the two names describe the same treatment.

How much does an 8-point lift cost?

The 8-point liquid facelift at Dermacy Clinic starts from £1,000. Because every face needs a different plan, it is only booked after a full consultation, where we confirm the points and the final price. Patient finance through Medicred is available, subject to approval.

How long does an 8-point lift last?

Usually 12 to 18 months. Each area breaks down at its own pace: deep support on the cheekbones and jaw tends to last longer than softer areas. The result fades slowly, and a lighter top-up when you notice the support softening keeps your face looking consistent.

How much filler is used in an 8-point facelift?

It depends on how much volume your face has lost, so there is no single figure. A face with early changes needs less than one with deeper hollows. We decide the amount for each point at consultation and explain it before anything is injected. We would rather use less and review it at two weeks than overfill.

Is a liquid facelift worth it?

It is worth considering if your main concern is volume loss and a tired look, and your skin still has reasonable firmness. It is not worth it if loose skin is the real problem, because filler cannot tighten skin. We will tell you which group you are in at consultation, before you commit to treatment.

What is the difference between a liquid facelift and a surgical facelift?

A surgical facelift removes and tightens loose skin and repositions deeper tissue. It needs an operation and weeks of recovery, and it lasts for years. A liquid facelift restores lost volume and support with filler, with a few days of recovery, and wears off over months. It cannot do what surgery does. For heavy jowls or a loose neck, surgery is the honest answer.

Does the 8-point lift hurt?

Most people find it very manageable. Numbing cream is applied first, and many fillers contain a local anaesthetic as well. You will feel pressure, and the temples and jawline can be more sensitive than the cheeks. Afterwards, expect tenderness for a few days, especially when chewing.

Is there any downtime after a liquid facelift?

Not much, but plan for some. Swelling is usual for the first few days and bruising is possible at any of the points. Most people go back to work within a day or so. Avoid booking within two weeks of a wedding or big event, so the result has time to settle.

Can I combine an 8-point lift with anti-wrinkle injections or skin boosters?

Yes, and many faces benefit. Filler restores structure. Anti-wrinkle injections relax the muscles behind forehead lines, frown lines and crow's feet, and skin boosters improve hydration and fine crepey texture. Each does a different job, so together they often look more natural than any one alone. We will suggest the order and how to space the appointments.

Do I need a consultation before an 8-point lift?

Yes. An 8-point lift is planned entirely around your face, so a full face-to-face consultation always comes first. We look at your face at rest and moving, go through your medical history, show you which points we suggest and confirm the price before anything is injected.

Will people be able to tell I have had a liquid facelift?

The aim is that people notice you look well rested, not that you have had something done. Spreading support across the face means less filler in each area than chasing every line, which keeps it subtle. Overfilled faces are often the result of too much product in too few places.

Is a liquid facelift safe?

Filler is a well-established treatment, but more areas means more injection points, so care matters. Most people only notice short-lived swelling, soreness and the odd bruise. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. That is why every point is planned at consultation and why we only use hyaluronic acid filler, which can be dissolved.

Can a liquid facelift be reversed?

Yes. Every filler we use is hyaluronic acid, which can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if one area is not right or you change your mind. Left alone, your body breaks it down gradually over time.

What age is right for a liquid facelift?

There is no set age. You need to be 18 or over, which is the law in England. The treatment is usually considered once volume loss starts to show, often from the late thirties onwards. Skin firmness matters more than the number: the lift works on support, so it suits reasonably firm skin far better than very loose skin.

Which filler brands do you use?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers from Juvéderm, Stylage and Fillmed, all of which can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if ever needed. Each of the eight points may need a different gel, so a full-face plan often uses more than one product. The exact product is chosen for your face at consultation.
