Quick answer

What can a non-surgical nose job do?

A non-surgical nose job uses a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler to change how the nose looks, mainly in profile. It can smooth a small bump, make a slightly uneven nose look straighter and lift a drooping tip a little. It cannot make a nose smaller or improve breathing. At Dermacy Clinic in Doncaster it costs £300, and you see the change straight away.

What it can and cannot do

What nose filler can change, and what it cannot

Filler adds a little volume in exactly the right places. It reshapes the line of the nose by building, never by taking away, so it suits small, specific concerns.

Bump

Smoothing a bump on the bridge

Filler placed just above and below a small bump makes the bridge look straighter from the side. The nose does not shrink, but it often looks more refined.

Straighter

Evening out a slightly uneven nose

A small dip, or a bridge that looks slightly off-centre, can be made to look straighter by filling the lower side. A clear twist from an injury or old surgery needs a surgeon.

Tip

Lifting a drooping tip a little

A small amount near the base of the tip can lift its angle slightly, which can make the nose look shorter from the side. The change is subtle by design.

Profile

Balancing nose and chin

A nose can look larger when the chin sits back. Sometimes chin filler, alone or with nose filler, gives a more balanced profile than treating the nose by itself.

Suitability

Who a non-surgical nose job suits

We look at your nose from every side, ask about injuries and surgery, and only go ahead when the area is suitable for filler.

Book

Often suitable for

Adults with a small bump on the bridge, a slight dip or unevenness, or a tip that droops a little. You want a subtle change without surgery and accept that the nose itself will not get smaller.

Ask first

Talk to us before booking if

You have had nose surgery, a broken nose or nose filler before. You take blood thinners, have an autoimmune condition, have a skin condition or infection on the nose, or wear heavy glasses every day.

Not the right fit

When we suggest something else

Anyone hoping for a smaller or narrower nose, better breathing, or a fix for a large bump or major asymmetry; a surgical opinion suits these better. Treatment is for adults aged 18 or over, and we postpone treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Your visit

Your non-surgical nose job, step by step

Most of the care goes into the assessment. The injecting itself is quick.

  1. Assessment from every angle

We look at your nose from the front, the side and below, and at how it sits with your chin and cheeks. We ask about breathing, past injuries, surgery and any filler you have had, and note it all on your record.

  2. A clear plan, or a clear no

If filler can give you the change you want, we show you where it will go and explain the risks for this area, including the rare but serious ones. If your goal really needs surgery, we tell you plainly.

  3. Numbing and treatment

Numbing cream goes on first. Filler is placed slowly, a little at a time, while we watch the skin closely and check your profile in the mirror with you.

  4. Home, then a two-week check

You leave with written aftercare and a direct line to the clinic. At two weeks we look at the settled shape together and talk through whether anything needs a small adjustment.

Results and aftercare

Results and aftercare for nose filler

You see the change before you leave. The next few days are about protecting the new shape while it settles.

  1. Straight away

The new line of the nose shows as soon as treatment ends. Some redness, tenderness and slight swelling are normal for a day or two.

  2. The first few days

Keep glasses off the bridge for the first few days, or for as long as we advise at your appointment. Avoid facials, massage and firm pressure on your nose for two weeks, because pressure while the filler is soft can shift it.

  3. The first 24 to 48 hours

Skip strenuous exercise, heat such as saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga, and alcohol, and try not to sleep face down. Keep make-up off the treated area for the rest of the day.

  4. At two weeks

Swelling has usually gone and the shape has settled. Your review is the time to look at your profile together and decide whether anything needs changing.

  5. How long it lasts

Nose filler usually lasts 9 to 12 months, sometimes longer, because the nose moves very little. It fades gradually rather than all at once.

  6. Changing your mind

Because we only use hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the shape or a problem needs correcting.

Safety first. The nose has a rich blood supply, with vessels linked to those around the eyes. Filler entering a vessel is rare, but it can damage the skin and, very rarely, affect vision, which is why we only treat after a careful assessment and work slowly with small amounts. Contact us straight away about pain that gets worse, skin that turns white, blotchy, grey or blue-purple, or an area that feels cold. Any change in your vision: call 999 or go to A&E. Frequently asked questions

Non-surgical nose job FAQs

Straight answers about comfort, results, prices and aftercare.

How much does a non-surgical nose job cost?

At Dermacy Clinic a non-surgical nose job is £300, and we confirm it with you before treatment starts. Prices around the UK vary a lot, so compare what each clinic actually includes. You can spread the cost with Medicred patient finance, subject to approval.

Can nose filler make your nose smaller?

No. Filler adds volume, so the nose itself becomes very slightly larger. What changes is the line: filling around a bump or lifting the tip can make the nose look smaller or more refined, especially in profile. If you want a nose that is genuinely smaller or narrower, surgical rhinoplasty is the route, and we will tell you that honestly.

Can nose filler fix a bump?

Often, if the bump is small. Filler is placed above and below it so the bridge reads as a straight line from the side. A large or very prominent bump is different: smoothing it would need so much filler that the nose would look bigger, so we would suggest a surgical opinion instead.

Can nose filler straighten a nose?

It can make a slightly uneven or crooked-looking nose appear straighter by filling the lower side, so the bridge looks more even from the front. It cannot move bone or cartilage. A nose that is clearly bent after an injury, or one with major asymmetry, is better assessed by a surgeon.

How long does nose filler last?

Usually 9 to 12 months, sometimes longer. The nose is a low-movement area, which helps filler stay in place and break down slowly. Your metabolism and the amount used play a part too. When it starts to fade, a smaller top-up is often enough to keep the shape.

Does nose filler hurt?

Most people find it very manageable. We apply numbing cream first, and you will mainly feel pressure along the bridge or tip. The tip can be a little more sensitive than the bridge. Any tenderness afterwards usually eases within a day or two.

How long does nose filler swelling last?

Swelling after nose filler is usually mild and eases within a few days, though the shape can take up to two weeks to settle fully. Small bruises are possible. That is why we review you at two weeks rather than judging the result on the day.

Can I wear glasses after nose filler?

Try not to rest glasses on your nose for the first few days, while the filler is still soft. Pressure from the frame can push it out of place or leave a dent. If you wear glasses every day, tell us at consultation so we can plan around them, and we will tell you how long to wait after your treatment.

Can nose filler cause blindness?

It is very rare, but it has been reported. Blood vessels on the nose connect with those that supply the eye, so filler entering a vessel can, in rare cases, affect vision. This is why the nose is a higher-risk area and why we only go ahead after a careful assessment. Any change in vision after filler is an emergency: call 999 or go to A&E.

Can nose filler migrate?

Filler can occasionally spread, usually when too much is used or the nose is pressed soon after treatment. Small amounts, careful placement and avoiding firm pressure for two weeks lower the chance. If filler does move, or you dislike the shape, it can usually be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Dissolving existing filler is £150 at Dermacy Clinic.

Is a non-surgical nose job safe?

For the right person, complications are uncommon, but the nose carries more risk than the lips or cheeks. Every nose is assessed before we agree to treat, and we explain the warning signs to watch for. If you have had nose surgery, the risk is higher and we may advise against filler.

Non-surgical nose job or rhinoplasty: which is right for me?

Filler suits small changes: a minor bump, a slight dip, a tip that droops a little. Results show immediately, you need no time off, and they usually last 9 to 12 months, sometimes longer. Surgery suits bigger goals, such as making a nose smaller or improving breathing. If surgery would serve you better, we will say so.

How much filler is needed for a non-surgical nose job?

Very little compared with other areas. The nose needs small, precise amounts, and adding more rarely improves it; too much can make the nose look heavier. We plan the amount at your consultation around the change you want, and the £300 price is agreed before anything is injected.

Who should not have a non-surgical nose job?

You must be 18 or over: filler for under-18s is illegal in England under the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021. We also advise against it for people wanting a smaller nose or better breathing, and we take extra care, or say no, after nose surgery. We postpone treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Which filler brands do you use?

We use hyaluronic acid fillers from Juvéderm, Stylage and Fillmed, all of which can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if ever needed. For the nose we use a firm gel that holds its shape in small amounts, chosen at consultation. The exact product is chosen for your face at consultation.
